5 Ways to Quickly Promote Your Blog Posts

Creating a few blog posts each week takes a lot of time and effort. Aside from writing what you want to say, you also have to add visuals. So, you create images, including quotes and infographics to add to your posts.

After hitting publish, you may be thinking that's done and you move on to creating the next blog post.

However, there ís something very important that you still need to do after hitting publish. You should not forget to promote your blog and your blog posts.

Letting people know about the wonderful post you've just published on your blog is very important. Missing this step could be tantamount to wasting all your effort writing the post in the first place. If people won't come to your blog to read your post, then what good is it?

Some bloggers actually say that promoting your posts should be given more time and effort than the actual writing. Well, that is true unless you create a very SEO-optimized post (a topic for another day).

So, how do you promote your blog posts? Let me share with you five ways that you can spread the word about your blog.

My suggestion is to do the first two or three each time you publish your blog post. You can schedule to do the others on a regular basis, but it's not necessary to do them every time you publish a post.

1. Post on your Social Media

As soon as your new post is live, the first thing you should do is to let your friends or your community on social media know about it.

Different niches may work differently on social media sites. So, you need to find first where your target audience is hanging out. Then, try to be active wherever they are -- be it Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Tiktok, or whatever social media websites. Then, begin sharing your content each time you publish a post. You can also share your older posts.

2. Send an Email to your Subscriber List

I already mentioned in the last two posts in this series why building an email list or subscriber list is important. Let me mention again one of the reasons. Having an email list helps you to promote your new blog post.

Whenever you send an email to your list, include the links to your recent blog posts inviting them to read your posts. Don't forget to add a little information about your post topic to give them an idea about what they can expect to find, hopefully, they will be enticed to come back to your blog. Who knows they may also share your blog post with their circle of influence.

3. Post Comments on Related Blogs

Another way to promote your blog post and possibly get links and traffic back to your blog is to leave comments on related blogs. Search for a few blogs related to your niche and write quality comments on them. If you can leave the URL to your new blog post when you make a comment, do so.

This may not be the most effective link-building strategy, but it ís an easy way to let other fellow bloggers and their audience know about your blog.

4. Write Guest Blog Posts

Building relationships with other bloggers within your niche and related ones will be valuable in building your blog audience. You should seriously consider this as you do number 3 above -- searching for blogs within your niche. Take note of the blogs where you can offer to write guest blog posts.

When another blog owner allows you to write a guest blog post, you can add one link to your more popular or profitable blog posts and your main blog URL in the author resource box. Or, if you can, it may be better way to write your guest post and include the link to your blog post naturally meaning taking into consideration the content of your guest post.

5. Create Videos and Live Streams

Creating videos in this time and age has never been easier. There are plenty of platforms that can be explored like Google Hangouts, YouTube, and Facebook Live. So, why not get into creating your video content to further promote your blog.

You can simply record a short video talking about what you are sharing in a particular blog post. Post a link to your post and invite readers to read the post and further engage with you by leaving a comment, signing up to your subscriber list, or downloading a freebie.

These ideas are just some of the things you can do to promote your blog. There are other things you can do like publish on Medium or Hubpages or join blog round-ups. What's important is you choose a few to start. You can work on these and do other promotional strategies as you come across them.

By the way, you can leave your comments on this post if you wish to promote your blog as long as your blog is family and kid-friendly.
